Ultimately, the Mega SG is about playing Genesis carts with a Genesis-alike controller on your HDTV. Japanese SJ-6000 6 button gamepad, with 8BitDo’s DIY wireless kit installed but there’s something undeniably great about using an original controller, while also enjoying a wireless experience. Add the Retro Receiver and the DIY kit and you’re around $70 now. I managed to snag an SJ-6000 off of eBay for about $30 with shipping. The biggest catch is that the replacement is really designed for the Japanese SJ-6000 version of the controller, which is just slightly smaller than the MK-1653 available everywhere else on Earth.
